Peter Pan Themed Peppermint Patties
Today is the 67th anniversary of Disney’s Peter Pan!
Peter Pan is one of my favorite stories - I love the book, and pretty much all of the adaptations (1953 Peter Pan, Mary Martin stage show, Hook, 2003 Peter Pan etc…) In celebration I wanted to share these fun peppermint patties I made that gave me some “second star to the right” vibes
THIS is the recipe I used for the peppermint patties, and they are SO GOOD, like I don’t think I can ever have a store bought peppermint patty again after these delicious minty morsels. I found Amanda’s recipe through Jessica Kane’s insta-stories (credit where credit is due!) - she’s the social media manager of Cupcakes and Cashmere, a blog I’ve been following for probably as long as blogs have existed, haha. I also used extra semi-sweet chocolate instead of regular semi-sweet, which was totally worth it, in my opinion, and really contrasted the mint well.
In full “real life” disclosure, when I decided I wanted to make peppermint patties from scratch, I realized I didn’t have a 2” round cookie cutter like the recipe suggested…so I used the smallest one I had, which was this star cutout from a Christmas cookie cutter collection I have (it’s super old, don’t remember where it came from!) But after making them I couldn’t stop humming “The Second Star to the Right” in my head so…voila! Peter Pan-inspired 🙂 Inspiration can come from anywhere!
I’ll be snacking on these tonight while we take a trip to Neverland via Disney+ …do you have any fond memories of Peter Pan? Let me know in the comments!
