Easter Basket Ideas for Toddlers
Easter is April 4th this year, and I feel like I’m going to blink and it’ll be tomorrow! I just finished placing orders for things for K’s Easter basket and thought I would share a quick roundup of the type of things I’m including for an almost-2-year-old.
This is only our second rodeo when it comes to Easter baskets, but my strategy with holidays in general as of now is to focus on a couple of things that are better made and/or can add to things she already has versus a larger amount of cheap-y things that will break or become junk immediately. Plus, some Reese’s peanut butter eggs because I’m raising my child to know what the best kind of Reese’s are ;)
I like a basket that can be re-used for multiple years, with bonus points for something that can also get a lot of play. We’re sticking with this cute picnic basket this year (ours is from last year, and mint, but the rose is really pretty too!)
We’re really into our wooden train set, which we just started getting pieces for at Christmas, so we’re adding a bridge and a wiggly section of track. We’re honestly in kind of a big things-that-move phase in general, so I’m also getting this super cute bunny in a carrot car to add to her car collection, since I just couldn’t resist some classic Easter theming.
Another easy component for baskets if your kiddo, is a refresh of art supplies! I caved and updated our sidewalk chalk early, but we also got a small first watercolor set.
Instead of the plastic grass that filled my baskets as a kid, I got a few of these pretty playsilks to fill in the bottom of the basket. I’ve seen them a few places, but they seem like a great versatile imaginary play piece.
I’m also a big fan of holiday PJs - no holiday too small, if you ask me! Burts Bees always has some cute ones.
Picnic Basket, Crazy Train Tracks, Bunny Car, Large Playsilk, Watercolors
Miffy at the Zoo, Fringe Basket, Easter Bunny PJs
Mini Rainbow Playsilk, Train Bridge, Bunny Plush
Do you have any type of item you include every year in your baskets? Does the Easter Bunny just leave them out on the kitchen table in the morning, or do your kids have to hunt for them in addition to the eggs? I’ve been working on our Easter egg plan for this year that I’ll be sharing soon! I’m really excited about them.
